Melbourne Branch President's Christmas Ride

We had a really good number and variety of people turn up at Lilydale and the weather proved to be great.   Greetings were exchanged and Jeff volunteered to do TEC duty.

Brian then led us on a great tour around the back of The Dandenong Ranges

through some delightful scenery and  we had a short rest stop at Alma Treloar Reserve, Cockatoo

which is named after Brian's Great Aunt, who had been a teacher in the area.     We then headed down through Beaconsfield Upper where I was rewarded with a special viewing of a wallaby crossing my path before heading down to Tooradin where we met Alf of South Gippsland Branch  . We then crossed the Peninsula and made our way down to Coolart Wetlands Homestead.

Thanks to Barry, Margaret and John for organising and greeting us with a BBQ lunch.

A very special mention to Barry who headed off and brought a family BBQ back when it was discovered that the public BBQs were NOT working as Parks Vic had decided they needed attention!
