The weather during breakfast was just plain horrible - grey, drizzly and wet ! But the rain radar suggested the drizzle was heading north-east while the ride was going north-west. So I rode off to Kalkallo expecting to only see one or two others turn up, to be met by three riders already waiting ! In the end 11 of us left Kalkallo (once Jack had arrived) and went up to Wallan and across to Woodend, with the temperature staying in the 9-10 deg range.

12 of us left Kalkallo on a sunny but windy Sunday, made our way north through Wandong to Broadford where we got mixed in with the Sportsbike Riders Club. This meant keeping an eye on your mirrors for them to zip past (not always safely), passing them at the next intersection while they figured out where to next (then repeat). We rode via Pyalong to Lancefield for morning break, and were joined by Andrew, Sam and Colin. (and David who apparently got confused with Ride Leaders u-turn, and other groups of riders in the mix !).

8 of us had a very good day out, a few back roads to avoid some traffic - although the Great Ocean Rd was a cruise behind several cars. The sea and beaches looked quite appealing on the ride past ! Back over the hills and through Deans Marsh went well. The slog up Geelong road on a Sunday afternoon was a pain as usual !
