Geelong Branch is organising riders from our two branches to assist in the Ironman Triathlon on Sunday November 14th this year.

The Ironman is Geelong’s major fundraiser for the year, and this is an opportunity for your members to raise up to $2,200 in total for one morning of riding their bikes. For each rider who attends a donation of $110 will be made to their Branch
The event organisers are asking for 18 bikes to carry pillions, 2 bikes to act as Lead Male & Lead Female escorts/markers and for 1 Race Organiser/Moto Co-ordinator (which would be myself ("Gentle" Ron Howell) for this year).  We only participate in the Bicycle leg of the race, which is ran along Beach Rd between St Kilda to Mordialloc. Only 2 wheeled bikes are to be used, with a mix of top boxes and sissy bars. The solo bikes are to be quiet if possible as they will be travelling approx. 50 -75 meters in front of the leaders.
For details on the course look up Ironman 70.3 Melbourne on the internet and go to “Course”
If your Branch cannot fill the required 20 bikes, we can ask Werribee to make up the numbers.

Please let Pat Ryan know if you are interested in spending a morning carrying a pillion and participating in this exercise.
