The annual vision impaired day at Sandown Raceway, hosted by the Warrandyte Lions Group will be on again on 3 April 2011. Riders wishing to donate some time are invited to attend with their bikes to take vision impaired persons (and some with other limited disabilities) and their families for ride. There will be a limited amount of time available for bikes on the actual track, which is mainly for the use of the RACV learner cars.
Riders attending should be at the track by 9.30am, meeting at the pits building, and be ready to commence riding by 10.00am. Rides will usually continue until about 3.00pm. A worthwhile day and an opportunity to offer a ride to many who will not get any other opportunity to get on a motorcycle.
For those attending, we request you bring along a spare helmet and/or jacket for use by the pillions.
For further information, please contact Henry Rokx, on 0418 329 617 or via email email@example.com.
I have attended this a few times over the years and it is a lot of fun. Bikes usually get to run around the track for 30 or so minutes in the morning at varying degrees of spend (it all depends on how fast your pillion wants to go) and again in the afternoon. Lions club provides lunch. In between times you take people around the carpark and service roads of Sandown Park. Enter off Princes highway entry.
