Annual Odyssey
The "High Country' Odyssey is held annually over the Melbourne Cup weekend in November in the small central country town of Mansfield in the High Country region of Victoria which has excellent day rides to the nearby Snow Fields at Mt Buller and the world class wine regions of the King Valley.
*note - current and past events are listed at this link Here
The scenery around Mansfield and this part of Victoria is splendid, the roads have beautiful sweepers and some great twisties. There are views around every corner.
The Melbourne Branch arrange a Gala Dinner on Saturday Night with music, dancing, prizes and a venue where we can enjoy each others company and behave disgracefully!!
Breakfast is served on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings under the marquee at
the High Country Holiday Park by jolly cooks at a very economical rate. Tea and Coffee is available over the whole weekend for free!!
A Bar is available at the marquee and is open every afternoon. On Sunday a BIG BBQ is served and the Bar remains open until late. Don't worry about the weather, the marque has heaters if it starts to snow!! (not really, but it can feel like it!)

There is a lead ride to Kevington Pub, a short pleasant ride to an old world pub with lots of charm, another to Mt Buller on Monday where the locals have a fantastic Food and Wine Festival and often a third for Saturday if there are enough takers.
The three or four day event is a relaxing, fun filled weekend. You can be as active or as lay back as you please. The Melbourne Branch members are there to treat you like royalty!!!
As there are so many other events on in Mansfield over the Melbourne Cup weekend it is a very good idea to book your accommodation early either at the High Country Holiday Park where breakfast and BBQ are held or at any of the other venues listed on the back of the Registration Form.
Registration is ESSENTIAL and again should be done by September so the committee have time to arrange all the food etc.
The Mansfield Odyssey is an event not to be missed, I'll see you there!!!
