Christmas Party

One of the more important events on the Melbourne Branch Social Calendar is the Christmas Party which is usually held in December of each year at the Donvale Sports Club.

We take over the function room for the evening. A pleasant room, one wall is of glass so we can have a view of the activities on the sporting field. There is a kitchen where the dinner is prepared and a bar where we are able to purchase sustenance of the liquid kind. There is a dance floor that is well used on these nights.
The Donvale Sports Club is easy to find, up the Eastern Freeway to Springvale Road, turn left, go the few hundred metres to Mitcham Road, turn left and take the first turn to the left. There is plenty of parking for either your car or your bike. The Melway reference is 48 F3.
The Christmas function is not just for the members of the Melbourne Branch. Any member of the Ulysses Club is welcome whether a city member, a country member or an interstate member in Melbourne at that time and all are welcome to bring your partner, family or friends along to meet those who you spend those Sundays with.
When you arrive you will find you will have some friendly people to have some pre-dinner drinks and conversation with. After a while you will be invited to find a table to sit at for the dinner and drinks. It does not seem too long until the music becomes a bit louder, the dancing starts and you might find you have sat at most of the tables by night's end. What a friendly and chatty group of 'more mature' motorcyclists! It is always pleasing to note that so many Ulyssians are not inhibited by an actual factual account of her/his travels/rides, when a small embellishment can make the story so much more interesting.
You can enjoy all this and more when you come to the Melbourne Branch Christmas Party. Whilst the date and cost has yet to be decided for this years event, these details will be advised in Spare Tyre newsletter, Ride Calendar and CALENDAR section of our website at the appropriate time.
Lets have a magnificent turn up and have a truly Ulyssian disgraceful night.
